Anxiety Disorders

It is normal for people to worry. Worrying can be adaptive, sometimes helping people, especially children, solve problems, stay safe, and gain the motivation necessary to succeed. However, anxiety becomes a problem when it interferes with an individual’s ability to handle situations and do the things that they want or should be doing given their age. At Reframe Psychology Clinic, our Psychologists have had years of experience assessing for anxiety disorders and treating thousands of anxious youth.

Depression

There are times when sadness is an appropriate emotion, especially if our expectations are not met or we have to deal with the loss of someone or something very dear to us. However, when feelings of sadness become more about feeling numb, it may signal something more significant. Excessive sadness (either extensive or out of proportion to a particular event) and/or feelings of disinterest in things that an individual would normally find interesting could be a signal that you are suffering from depression. Depression is a very serious problem that needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Our clinicians have experience diagnosing and treating depression in children, adolescents, and adults.

OCD

When a person has intrusive, repetitive thoughts or images and/or has to follow certain repetitive actions or patterns of behavior in order to feel less stressed, he or she may be suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). In order for you to be diagnosed with OCD, you can have either obsessions or compulsions (or both) and they need to be time-consuming and interfering with your daily functioning. While OCD tends to be a lifelong illness that waxes and wanes with stress, it is very treatable. Our clinicians are experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of OCD in children, adolescents, and adults.

ADHD

At times, all children have problems paying attention, sitting still, and not interrupting others. However, for a number of children, these difficulties continue as they get older, are more extreme than for others their age, and significantly interfere with their lives. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common childhood disorders worldwide, affecting about 5% of children. At Reframe Psychology Clinic, we routinely complete comprehensive ADHD and learning assessments.
